Values, what are they?

Values are the things that are really important to you; whether personally or in business. By identifying your values you are saying this is the code I am living by. The following are examples of some values for you to reflect on:

Respect
Integrity
Love
Family
Friendship
Money
Fun

How are your values reflected in your roles in life?
Let’s say the list above is a list of your life values. Based on this, here are a few questions:

How do you show respect to those who are important to you?
When is your integrity evident?
When do you show love – even to yourself?
Where does your family come in the scheme of things?
What does friendship mean to you?
Do you spend money wisely?
How much fun do you have in life?
What is the one thing you can do that will guarantee you burst out laughing?

Having real values will help you.

You will look more organically at what is important to you. Remember, we all have different values. The above lists are just to get your creative juices flowing. Find your own values, listen to your heart.  Then, experience a life that is based on what is truly important to you in business or life – or both.

Start now:

List your top 5 values (personal/business) – make your own list.
If you are in conflict about any issues, look to your values for guidance. Watch how things change.

If you live by your values, it’s like having your own internal sat nav. You may occasionally take the wrong turn but in reality you are going in the right direction.

What do you think?
