As love is in the air, I thought it appropriate to wish you a Very Happy Valentine’s Day.
Relationships
Relationships are all about what you put in. And with the hype that Valentine’s Day creates, most people will find themselves in a last minute frenzy getting a card for their loved one. The roses will be overpriced. Someone’s nose will be out of joint because they didn’t get a card. Some will be lonely and wonder what the hype is all about.
Why wait for one day?
Valentine’s day is a bit like Christmas. It’s one day and everything has to be magic! The magic is not in the one day. The magic is when you stick together through thick and thin. The magic is in the everyday, mundane things that show we care like making the breakfast or picking the children up from school or just listening to one another. For some, valentine’s day is a disappointment perhaps not getting a card. It’s important for everyone to realize that you are loved regardless of receiving a card or not. Someone genuinely loves you whether it is a mother or father or friend.
The most important person in your life
The most important person in your life is not your partner. It is you. If your mindset is not in great shape it will affect your relationship. Your greatest responsibility is not to someone else, it is to yourself. You are responsible for your life. Nobody else is. Most of us don’t think of ourselves in that way. A lot of the time we think negative thoughts about ourselves, which is downright unhelpful. So here are a few valentine tips for you:
- Love yourself
- Stop criticizing yourself in your head (its fed up with it anyway)
- Start noticing the talents you have
- Realize that you have many skills
- See yourself through the eyes of someone who loves you
So yes, have a very Happy Valentine’s Day. And begin to start to look after the most important person in your life – you! If you are happy within yourself, your relationships will flourish.
Have a great day
